Monochromatic Outfits

Tonal, easy to create and always a safe and good choice…the Monochromatic Outfits(Winter Edition)! How to create one? Easy! Keep things simple with taking it to the basics: shoes + pants + tops. From there you can go for more casual or formal looks by mixing up those key pieces.

Bring your ‘good’ white sneakers or a pair of derbies, a pair of formal black suit pants and tuck in your favorite (well fitted) crisp white shirt and you’ve effortlessly took a more formal approach. Add a great grey sweater (if it’s too cold) and an overcoat to top things off.

On the other hand, a simple white t-shirt under your favorite grey sweatshirt, a pair of nice black jeans/grey pants and your everyday kicks, keep you cool and ready to run errands or grab a coffee while out. Don’t forget to throw on a nice jacket, since it’s still freezing.

As for the jackets, these are a perfect way to complete the look and there’s so many choices…An overcoat will simplify things (patterns allowed) and add a classier touch whereas a puffer or a more sports jacket will keep everything cool and casual.

Once you have your base layers all set, it’s time to mix things up with some great accessories. My suggestions: scarves, beanies, watch, backpack/tote bag and a pair of sunglasses for those beautiful sunny but cold days. These can add layers and textures to the look making it much more interesting while keeping you warm. And don’t forget, it’s all about feeling comfortable and confident!
